Acklen Park Volleyball Association
Every Thursday from May through October, the Acklen Park Volleyball Association plays from 5 pm until dark on the lawn in front of Outback Steakhouse (weather permitting). The group has been at this almost 10 years. Play is open to all and they welcome new players. 269-2433
Centennial Art Center
Located in the northernmost corner of Centennial Park, the Art Center hosts a variety of shows and exhibitions featuring local artists. Arts classes are also offered here through Metro Parks' Cultural Arts Program. 862-8442
Centennial Sportsplex
Middle Tennessee's ultimate sports complex, the Centennial Sportsplex is a $20-million, 145,000 square-foot, year-round family sports and recreation center for ice skating, fitness, swimming and tennis. 862-8480.

Great Performances at Vanderbilt
Launching its 30th anniversary of world-class entertainment.
Since its debut in 1974, hundreds of thousands of people from Vanderbilt, Nashville and Middle Tennessee have seen an incredible array of artists -- including singers, dancers, and musicians.

The Parthenon
The Parthenon, located in the heart of Centennial Park, serves as the city of Nashville's art museum. The focus of the Parthenon's permanent collection is a group of 63 paintings by 19th and 20th century American artists donated by James M. Cowan. Additional gallery spaces provide a venue for a variety of temporary shows and exhibits.

Sarratt Art Classes
Sarratt Art Studios are located on the first floor of Sarratt Student Center at Vanderbilt. The studios offer 8-week non-credit classes open to all Vanderbilt students, staff, faculty, alumni and members of the Nashville community. Contact Kevin H. Sarratt Gallery
Sarratt Gallery is located in the main lobby of the Sarratt Student Center on Vanderbilt's campus. Gallery Hours are 9 am to 9 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday. During the summer months, as well as holiday and semester breaks, the gallery closes at 4:30 pm each weekday and is closed on weekends. All events are open to the public free of charge. 322-2471.
Scarritt-Bennett Center
Scarritt-Bennett is a conference, retreat, and education center committed to empowerment through cross-cultural understanding, education, creativity and spiritual renewal.
It offers meeting space, a wedding chapel, a gift shop, cultural museum and library. 340-7500.

Shakespeare in Centennial Park
For over sixteen years the Shakespeare Festival has successfully presented high-quality, accessible theater to our community and to children and youth throughout Tennessee. The 2004 season is
August 5-September 5, 2004, on Thursday-Sunday evenings at the Centennial Park Bandshell. All shows begin at 7:30 pm with pre-show music at 6:30 pm. Admission is free.

Vanderbilt Fine Arts Gallery
The gallery features six exhibitions each year that represent the diversity of artistic production today, as well as throughout the history of Eastern and Western art. In addition to exhibitions drawn from the permanent collection and organized from public and private sources, a number of traveling exhibitions are presented as well. Admission is free and the public is welcome to all events. Open Monday-Friday, 12-4 pm; weekends, 1-5 pm. Closed during academic breaks. Summer hours: Tuesday-Friday, 12-4 pm; Saturday, 1-5 pm; closed Sunday and Monday.
