Nashville's Night Out in West End Park

Our first Night Out event was a huge success! Night Out is an annual national event designed to strengthen neighborhoods and make our streets safer by promoting camaraderie between neighbors. To celebrate the event, we had a block party on Burns Avenue from 7:00-8:30 pm. The party included grilled hot dogs, watermelon, pie and lemonade, plus delicious chips and salsa donated by neighborhood restaurant US Border Cantina. Many neighbors brought their dogs, who had a blast playing together in the greenspace. The kids enjoyed drawing on the sidewalks with chalk. Three Metro police officers visited our event, with Officer Lloyd Sharp joining us for the entire party. It was wonderful to meet so many of our neighbors. We are looking forward to making this an annual event, and perhaps scheduling more block parties in between!
